Macy's sponsorship of the first Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit in Phoenix. Macy's women executives spent time with Earl G. Graves, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Earl G. Graves, Ltd., and founder and publisher of Black Enterprise Magazine, and Joyce Roche', President and CEO of Girls, Inc. and member of Macy's Board of Directors.
Similar to our corporate philosophy, Macy's, Inc. associates
also believe in giving back to their communities. In 2006,
associates contributed more than $5 million of their personal
funds to approximately 4,700 charitable organizations across
the nation. These associate gifts were doubled by the
Macy's Foundation, which matched associates' gifts
dollar-for-dollar.
Our Matching Gifts program was expanded in 2006 to
enable the Macy's Foundation to match associates' gifts
to most organizations holding a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
certification from the Internal Revenue Service, and the
minimum donation matched was lowered to $25.
