Over the years, we have worked to channel the energy of
our employees nationwide for volunteer projects in their
communities. Community service is a cornerstone of our
values, as well as a grassroots representation of our overall
philosophy.
The Macy's, Inc. Partners in Time employee volunteer program
celebrated its 18th anniversary in 2007. Over the years,
1.5 million hours have been given in community service
nationwide, valued at more than $25 million. Partners in
Time has been nationally recognized, receiving the Points of
Light/Hands On Network "Award for Excellence in Workplace
Volunteerism" honor.
In 2007 alone, 70,721 participants gave their time for more
than 3,100 Partners in Time projects. In total, nearly 143,000
hours of community service time was given, valued at
$2.7 million to nonprofit organizations. In addition, more
than 30,000 hours were given in support of the company's
Give Back initiatives, including cause-related marketing
support, charitable board service and support for important
fundraising campaigns such as United Way. The simple,
successful mission of Partners in Time, "Sharing Our Time
To Make A Difference," has impacted nearly all segments
of society.
