The launch of Bloomingdale's at South Coast plaza in Costa Mesa, Ca, in May 2007 took the state by storm. At 291,000 square feet, the elegant, three-level store is the ninth Bloomingdale's in the state and is the largest in southern California. The South Coast plaza store assortment is designer-driven, with a high proportion of casual clothes. Its home and fashion merchandise fills the desires of Orange County's customers with a penchant for color, relaxed style and chic accessories.

Bloomingdale's new store in Chevy Chase, MD, opened in September 2007 in the unique, open-air Wisconsin place center. The three-level store features an innovative, compact home format with merchandise presented in lifestyle galleries, and Bloomingdale's most upscale fashion assortment in the region.

Bloomingdale's will open a store in the Northeast Valley area of Phoenix, AZ, in 2010. This will be the first store in Arizona and the 11th Bloomingdale's store in the western United States. The three-level, 180,000 square-foot-store will feature distinctive apparel and home merchandise with a focus on contemporary designer, bridge and luxury brands.
